Please note that the IELTS Test Centre will be closed from 25 December 2013 and will reopen on 2 January 2014. May we take this opportunity to wish you a safe and happy holiday season.
All UWS IELTS testing takes place at our Westmead campus in Building M. The campus is within easy walking distance of Westmead railway station. Patrolled parking is available onsite at a flat fee of $12 per day (make sure you bring change).
You must arrive no later than 8.15 am on the test day for registration. No late comers will be admitted after registration has finished. The listening, reading and writing modules will finish at 12.15 pm and the speaking test will be held either in the afternoon or on the Wednesday or Thursday before the main test.
On the day of the test, you should bring with you:
- your UWS IELTS confirmation letter
- your passport (this can remain with you during the test)
- pencils and an eraser
- water in a clear (not coloured) transparent bottle without labels.
Please do not bring with you:
- your mobile phone or any other electrical device or recording equipment as these cannot be brought into the test centre
- any other items of value.
Bags cannot be taken into the test rooms but will be left in a large box during the test. However, please note that we will take no responsibility for personal items held on the premises. Further, test administration will not take responsibility for personal items left or lost on the test day and it is strongly advised that you only bring what you will need for the test.
Smoking is not permitted in or near the IELTS test room. Smoking is now prohibited on all UWS and UWSCollege campuses with the exception of a number of clearly marked designated smoking areas (PDF, 629.6 KB). The locations have been selected to be as convenient as possible for smokers while being away from main thoroughfares and eating areas to minimise staff, student and visitor exposure to environmental tobacco smoke.
If you are caught infringing any of the candidate rules and regulations, your test result will be disqualified. This includes, but is not limited to, lending to or borrowing from another candidate during the test, attempting to cheat or copy the work of another candidate, talking or disturbing other candidates, not complying with instructions and removing any test materials used during the examination.
