Summary:

The primary role of the Academic Teacher is to provide efficient and effective teaching and learning experiences for students. We are inviting applications from qualified, experienced teachers to teach the following:

Selection Criteria

  • Undergraduate or post-graduate qualifications in area of specialisation as well as formal teaching qualifications with preparedness to enrol in a relevant qualification within 12 months if necessary.
  • Recent and relevant teaching experience in two subjects within the area of discipline taught at the campus for which you are applying
  • Experience in teaching students from diverse linguistic, ethnic and academic backgrounds
  • Ability to plan and implement lessons which allow for course material to be covered in the indicated time available and which also allow for achievement of desired outcomes by a diverse student body
  • Demonstrated ability in developing resources/curriculum documents as well as criteria and standards based assessment tasks
  • Ability to, or a willingness to learn how to, incorporate technology into teaching and learning
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including ability to foster high levels of collegiality and ability to empathise with students
  • Proven ability to assess priority of tasks and manage workload in a busy education environment

Summary:

IELTS Centre at UWSCollege Westmead, Casual.

IELTS – Clerical Markers

The IELTS Clerical Marker is responsible for the accurate marking of the IELTS test, in strict accordance with all relevant IELTS policies and procedures.

Selection criteria:

  • Minimum qualifications of Higher School Certificate
  • Ability to communicate and interpret written guidelines, in order to be able to understand the complexities of the IELTS marking policy
  • Good spelling, meticulous in work practices, good eye for detail
  • Trustworthy, conscientious and reliable
  • Demonstrated administrative skills

Clerical Marking takes place on Saturdays

IELTS – Invigilators

The role of an invigilator is to assist in the delivery of the test and to ensure the integrity and security of testing procedures.

Selection Criteria:

  • Experience working in an environment where the handling of confidential documentation was paramount.
  • Capability and willingness to follow very specific direction.
  • Ability to maintain composure and professionalism in a high pressure work environment.
  • Relevant experience working in a testing environment would be advantageous.
  • All approved applicants will be required to attend a half day training program.

Summary:

We are currently looking for suitably qualified and experienced individuals to join our team of IELTS Examiners at UWSCollege.

Requirements:

  • An undergraduate degree or a qualification which can be demonstrated to be equivalent to an undergraduate degree AND a recognized qualification in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) or recognized equivalent as part of a recognized university award course.
  • At least 3 years' full time (or the equivalent part time) relevant TESOL teaching experience (minimum one year post-certificate level qualification). The majority of this teaching experience must relate to adult students (16 years and over).
  • The required professional attributes and interpersonal skills.
